Ranks/Structure Overlord The father of the family. His life is of the upmost importance and is to be guarded vigorously. No outsider is granted a meeting with him except in the most rare cases and only if that outsider is of extreme importance (i.e. the leader of a guild we’re at war with).
The Second The heir of the family. Before anybody is granted a meeting with the Overlord the Second first has to approve. In the absence of the Overlord the Second holds supreme authority.
Consul A highly respected veteran member of the family. This is the highest position an adopted member can reach and is only available to adopted members. The Consul serves as the ambassador to other guilds, speaking for the Overlord whenever possible. He also is heavily involved in the family's espionage operations and is one of the most knowledgeable persons (about other guilds) in the family.
State Lord This rank is only available to family members. State Lords are entrusted with great responsibilities, heading up family operations around the world. They will be in charge of a legitimate business that will serve as a front to our “other” operations. A State Lord’s mission is to make the family as much money as possible. They will also be given a small crew to assist them.
Enforcer Proven veterans of the guild. They go with their State Lord wherever possible, helping him run his operation, serving as body guards, assigning missions and recruiting new members.
Soldier The first big step for a family member trying to climb the hierarchy. A soldier's main responsibility is to earn money and kick a portion of his profits up to his State Lord. Everything else, including murder, is only a means to that end. The soldier is obligated to obey orders from his State Lord to commit murder for his crime family without hesitation or any questions asked. Failure to do so will usually result in death for the unwilling soldier. These members have shown their worth and are entrusted with carrying out missions for the family. Some missions carry rewards.
Goon The lowest on the food chain. The Goon shares many of the same duties as the soldier, only without the respect. They are never given missions, but when a soldier is sent on a mission he will usually assemble a Goon Squad to accompany him. Goons aren’t assigned to State Lords like Soldiers and Enforcers. When not helping out with a mission the Goon should be focused on expanding the family’s influence, by murder, robbery, gathering information or identifying possible new recruits.
